KADE MERCER ELECTED FIRST MAYOR OF NEW EDEN
Mercer enters office on a progressive reconstruction platform while balancing pressure from H.E.R. and NEM.
NEW EDEN — Kade Mercer has been elected the first mayor of New Eden, winning a citywide mandate on a platform of reconstruction, public transit restoration, housing access, and civilian oversight of emergency authority.
Mercer’s administration will inherit a city still governed through overlapping municipal, H.E.R., and corporate recovery systems. His transition team has called for a unified reconstruction calendar and clearer public reporting on the pace of services returning to the outer districts.
H.E.R. issued a statement recognizing the result and promising continued coordination on public safety, resonance registration, and infrastructure protection. NEM likewise confirmed that it will participate in the incoming administration’s technology and access-grid review.
The mayor-elect will take office on 1 May 2006. A public inauguration and remembrance service is planned at Civic Plaza, subject to weather and security conditions.
